Event Basics
What is Off The Road Again?
Off The Road Again is a 4x4 charity event held across the Downs over the October Long Weekend, supporting Momentum Mental Health Toowoomba through vital fundraising and awareness. It delivers an off-road experience with purpose, fostering strong community connections, mateship, and lasting impact.When and where is the event held?
The event takes place across the Downs region over the October Long Weekend. Full event details including start and finish locations will be provided to registered participants prior to the event.
Vehicles & Requirements
What vehicles are allowed?
This event is designed for 4x4 vehicles only. Your vehicle should be suitable for off-road conditions and capable of handling dirt tracks and varying terrain.Do I need a modified 4x4?
Not necessarily but a high-clearance 4WD is strongly recommended. Some tracks may be challenging depending on conditions.Is there a required gear list?
Yes. At a minimum we recommend recovery points, snatch strap, air compressor, tyre deflator, a basic recovery kit and a UHF radio. A full recommended gear list will be provided before the event.Will vehicles be checked?
Yes, a basic vehicle check will take place before the event to make sure everything meets the required safety standards.
Drivers & Teams
Who can participate?
Drivers must hold a valid drivers licence. Participants of all experience levels are welcome.Can I enter as a team?
Absolutely. You can enter as a team or individual vehicle. It is encouraged to bring your mates and make a weekend of it.Can I bring passengers?
Yes, passengers are welcome, provided your vehicle is legally compliant and safely equipped.
Safety
What safety measures are in place?
Safety is a priority. The event includes planned routes and checkpoints, support and recovery teams, communication channels and first aid support.What happens if my vehicle breaks down?
Support vehicles and recovery assistance will be available. However participants are encouraged to come prepared and travel with others where possible.Do I need insurance?
Yes all vehicles must be registered and insured. Participants are responsible for their own vehicle insurance and coverage.
Fundraising
Is fundraising required?
Yes, this is a charity event and all participants are encouraged to fundraise in support of Momentum Mental Health Toowoomba.Is there a minimum fundraising target?
A recommended fundraising target will be set to help maximise impact. Details will be provided upon registration.How do I start fundraising?

Event Experience
What kind of terrain should I expect?
Expect a mix of dirt roads, tracks and off-road terrain across the Downs. Conditions may vary depending on weather.Will there be checkpoints or challenges?
Yes, participants can expect checkpoints, activities and challenges along the way to enhance the experience.Is camping included?
Event details including accommodation or camping options will be provided closer to the event date.What should I bring?
Participants should bring recovery gear, food (snacks) and water, camping gear (if required), fuel (spare) and personal items and safety equipment. A full checklist will be shared before the event.
Logistics
Will routes be provided?
Yes, participants will receive route details, maps or GPS instructions each day of the event.Is fuel available along the way?
Fuel stops will be identified but participants are responsible for planning their own fuel needs.
Weather & Changes
What happens if the weather is bad?
The event will proceed in most conditions however routes may be adjusted if necessary to ensure safety.What is the cancellation policy?
